It was a night of celebration in Old Town in Puerto Vallarta, dancing in the streets. The Catholic Church even joined in by ringing the enormous church bell. The ex-pats who live here year around by and large can not wait until President Trump’ leaves the White House. When and if ever accepts the results my hope is that we still have a White House.

It is far past the time that every citizen pro or con concerning the election at least attempt to compromise on many issues that effect the entire population, and not let party affiliations block progress in the many areas that must be addressed.

A YOUNG BOYS DREAM-FROM A DREAM TO AN U.S. MARINE

It is rare in this day and age to watch a Grandson fulfill his life long dream

It seems much easier for me to post on issues that I face on a daily basis than write about many in my family. My Grandson Cody MacLead is an exception.

Living outside of the United States these past 30 years I have missed so many births, birthdays of almost all my family members. In future posting will write about others in my family. Cody from a young age stood apart from others in his age group.

The first of which is being courteous to others regardless of age, especially adults. For my part never can remember him trash talking about others. From a early age he learned the skill which escapes of us regardless of age, THE ART OF LISTENING. His questions concerning a conversation were pertinent and to the point.

He has a history of helping others. Case in point is when he came across a young boy, obviously lost and walking adjunct to a busy highway in Ukiah Calif. Cody immediately reached the proper authorities and as a result this very young boy was reunited with his family. The parents were not aware that their son was young Tom Sawyer.

I had the privilege to attend his basic training graduation on the parade grounds at the Marine Recruit Depot in San Diego. Many years before I had missed the Graduation Ceremony of my two sons who like their own Grandfather and Father graduated from the Navy Boot Camp right next door to where Cody marched with his company. Words do not or cannot express the pride I felt at that moment. Cody accomplished what many fine young men and women who have gone before him, given of themselves to their country. A ceremony which did signify that he had made that big step from a young recruit to a United States Marine.

WHAT FEW PEOPLE EVER WITNESS

A few weeks ago while having lunch in my hometown of Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Was sitting at a table overlooking the Malecon and engaging in one of my favorite passtimes. people watching, it is a hobby of sorts. A rather young woman was walking with a young child in her arms and her little girl was walking besides her when I noticed two Puerto Vallarta motioned her to over where they were standing. …and what I witnessed was one of the nicest geastures I had seen in a very long time, both officers a man and woman reached into their own pockets and gave this woman in need some pesos. In Mexico not unlike other countries around the world police officers are not high on the pay scale….often over worked and underpaid….they take the blunt of much criticism and scorn until of course we are in desparate need of them…..Karma is a very big deal in my life…..and these two offricers will someday indeed receive the love they showed this day….love for another human being struggling to survive in a world full of self-centered, narrow-minded humans.

Today I am launching a brand new blog, edinmexico.com. it will contain observations and the views of life as seen by this 82 year old. Retired from the U. S. Navy after 20 years and the many hats I have worn since retirement.
